from Waikiki to Hanauma Bay. (bus or tour)

Hi,

I read few of the posts hear which said take the bus to hanauma bay from waikiki which is about $2 one way, and some said about tour which cost you about $15/pp. This is the first time we will be going oahu and want to go there for snorkeling.

We would really appreaciate if someone could tell us as to if it is faster to go by bus or the tour. If we go by bus we will have to rent the snorkeling gear from the bay itself ( is that costlier than $15??)

I would guess the time will be about the same if you take the bus or the tour. With the tour, you%26#39;ll need to stop over other hotels to pick-up other tourists. With the bus, as long as you know the schedule, you can hop on it and away you go to Hanauma bay. We took the bus and it was easy and fun. As for snorkelling gears, why rent? You can buy them at many stores in Honolulu for the same price as you would rent. Enjoy!!!

I just recommended the Go Hawaii Card to someone else with a similar question in this forum. I recommend a tour if you%26#39;re a beginning snorkler and there is a good one with the Go Hawaii Card if you%26#39;re planning on staying in Oahu for a few days and are going to do stuff like the Wakikki Trolley, Diamond Head Hike, USS Arizona, and Circle Island Tour. The Hanauma Bay Snorkle Tour includes gear, water, and the park fees if that give you any idea what you%26#39;ll get out of it. Have a great time!

we are there only for 3 days, so we might as well take the tour for hanauma bay for a day which is around $20 which i found onthis website..
