Lots of questions;)

My dh and I just got back from our second trip to Maui. We loved it, but are looking into going to a different island next time. I don%26#39;t know much about Kauai, but I think this is where we would like to go. We would be going at the end of December. It would just be the two of us, and we would like to rent a condo. We would like to be where it is sunny. We enjoy snorkelling and swimming, but I did not spend much time in the ocean this last time because it was too rough for me.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

In December you probably want to be on the south shore, probably in the Po%26#39;ipu area. It should generally be sunnier there and the water calmer. There are lots of good condos there, many of which people here have personal experience with.

I agree, Poipu would be a good choice for dec. If you want to compare some of features and locations of the condo%26#39;s there try suiteparadise.com. We stayed at the Poipu Kai resort and absolutely loved it. The beach is very calm in some places, and has waves out further. I can%26#39;t wait to go back. It is also right by an old town named Koloa which was fun to explore.

If you%26#39;re thinking of coming during the Christmas / New Year%26#39;s holidays, keep in mind that many places book up well in advance - up to a year. Poipu would be a good place to stay , although you could really stay just about anywhere on the island and drive to different beaches. Even though it%26#39;s winter, the north shore frequently has days that are beautiful as well.
