Hi people,
I want to see the canyon at Kauai and I ask the Question about the one day tour being good enough to see the main part of this Island? Has anybody done the deed of the tour? Any real time Advisors?

Kauai one day trip from waikiki
One day, oh my. You don%26#39;t know what you%26#39;re missing. I%26#39;d leave Waikiki for Kauai.
Kauai one day trip from waikiki
Personally I%26#39;d spend that one day exploring something I haven%26#39;t seen on Oahu. To me the cost and time associated with a one day inter-island trip to ANY island is just not worth the sacrifice of my precious vacation time and dollars. I try to coordinate my inter-island visits so that at least one leg of the visit is in conjunction with the start or ending of my stay. That way I%26#39;m only stealing time from a day that is already filled with travel rather than from a day I could be enjoying time in paradise.
I agree with dfarr. Although I much prefer Kaua%26#39;i to Oahu, it%26#39;s hardly worth the expense and travel time for one day. Waimea Canyon is spectacular and well worth seeing, but you%26#39;d hardly be seeing the ';main part'; of the island.
Better yet, if it%26#39;s only for a day, why not do an airplane/helicopter tour and get a good overview. You%26#39;ll see the canyon, and lots of things you wouldn%26#39;t see going straight from the airport to the canyon.
If all you can spare is the one day for Kauai, hawaiiactivities.com has a 15 hour package for $287 that flies you over and buses you to the Waimea Canyon and several other scenic areas and includes a boat trip up the Wailua River. They stop in Poipu for lunch. It would give you a nice little overview of Kauai, if all you have is one day. I would do it, if it was my only choice to see the beautiful gem that Kauai is.
Unfortunately, I don%26#39;t think the tour would include any of the North shore sights, which even just the drive up the coast would be awesome for you. You might want to shop around for a tour that does include the North shore. (I%26#39;d trade in the stop at the Russian Fort for a quick looksee even just a ways up the East shore even.) The North shore is so lush, it would be a shame to visit Kauai and not see that part.
