Big Island in one day.

Ok I know I won%26#39;t get to see everything on the Big Island in one day(and really get to appreciate it)soooo, the three things we really want to see is,

1)the volcanos of course

2)the Alaka Falls

and

3)the Harley Davidson shop.(it%26#39;s a sickness we have to visit every shop, it%26#39;s incurable, sooooo)

If we fly into Hilo by 8am and leave around 7pm, will all three of these be feasible? Can we add anything? We are more into natural wonders than anything.

This forum is great!

Wow, that%26#39;s a real whirlwind tour. The Harley shop is the easiest, just a couple of blocks from the airport on Kanoelehua Ave. Akaka falls is at Honomu, about 13 miles N. of Hilo on hwy. 19, then uphill a few miles. The volcano is in the opposite direction, 26 miles west on hwy. 11, then several miles more inside the park if you want to see the active flow. You%26#39;ll be spending most of your time driving.

How long at the Harley shop ??

It will be a very long day and expect 1.5 hours to be taken up at the car check-in and return.

Figure at least 5 hours for the park and 2 for Akaka from hilo r/t.....that leaves about 2 hours to eat and see bikes....

The trip to the harley shop won%26#39;t take long, just look around, buy a shirt that proves we were there. We%26#39;re now looking into renting one for the day. We have one we%26#39;re borrowing from a cousin on Ohau and thought it would be cool to see the BI on the bike. Nothing set in stone yet.

thanks for the info on the rental counter, I might see if I can find a earlier flight to give us more time. That%26#39;s a lot of help.
