If you've travelled to Maui in late March/early April...

We are planning to go to Maui the first week in April to take advantage of a seat sale -but we have to book by Jan.11th.

I%26#39;ve checked all the weather stats/weather sites for Maui and since April is still considered ';winter';, my concern is whether we would likely get any hot, sunny weather for most of our week long vacation. I don%26#39;t mind a little rain as long as it%26#39;s a brief shower and doesn%26#39;t last the entire afternoon, etc.

I would appreciate hearing about your experiences while there in late March/early April so that we can book our trip with peace of mind! We plan to stay at the Westin Maui Resort %26amp; Spa. My husband doesn%26#39;t want to risk going during this time because of the weather.

Thanks!

You%26#39;ll get good weather. We almost always travel to HI in March/April/May. You might get a day of rain, but more likely passing showers.

See my recent posting to Sassy13. The weather is certainly better than Toronto and Vermont.

Oahu-March 2003, Kauai, April 2004, Maui, March 2005. Always had good weather.

A few rainy days in Maui (out of 15), rain sprinkles in Kauai (not even worth moving off the beach), exactly one day of drizzle (out of 14) in Waikiki--so I souvenir shopped and went out for lunch.

Even a rainy day in HI is great.

I%26#39;m also going late March/early April. I was highly concerned about the weather. I was reassured by several responders ( I don%26#39;t remember the forum it was in), that the weather will be very warm. I was also informed that as far as rain goes, certain sides of the island get rain daily, and others do not. I think towards April, it should be very nice. I would definately book, as I was in the same boat, and was reassured that it will be nice and warm. Maybe a day or two of rain, but that%26#39;s do-able!

Have a great trip!

Husband and I were there last year from Mid to Late March. We saw only one little sun shower, but the wind was strong enough in that short tune to cause some rocks to fall during our attempted trip around the northwest coast of Maui. The weather otherwise was amazing, 70%26#39;s and low 80%26#39;s. The water in Lahaina was warm enough to swim. We are returning to Maui in mid February and I hope that the weather will be just as nice as the last time.

Where is the Westin Maui Resort %26amp; Spa. If your in the Wailea/Kihei area (we go there every first week of April)the weather is almost guaranteed to be great, perhaps a little windy.

If you%26#39;re in Napili or Kapalua, that time of year you are more likely to see some clouds and rain, but you won%26#39;t have to drive far to get the sun.

I was on Maui last year March 11th to 18th and was unlucky enough to have to deal with 3 rainy days in a row (heavy rain and wind) due to a passing storm.

This has not stopped me from planning my return trip this spring as I%26#39;m pretty confident the weather will be gorgeous like it usually is when we go.
