We are going to have about 1 1/2 days to sightsee ';free time'; on Maui. We are wanting to use these to go to some of the best beaches. We are not big into surf, snorkel or boogie boards. Would like to do some quick easy swimming or wading at beautiful spots ( perfect photo opportunities) Will be traveling in June. Any suggestions?

It depends on which area of the island you will be staying. For west Maui, Napili Bay gets my vote.
beaches
In the south any one of the Kamaole beach parks would be great for swimming and wading-at the north end of Kam 1 there are interesting rock formations for pictures.Further south there are a number of lovely beaches but keep going past the Prince Hotel until you get to Big Beach-fabulous but there are no facilities except for a couple of port-a-potties.If you are really feeling bold climb over the hill at the north end of Big Beach and you will find Little Beach absolutely beautiful BUT be forewarned- clothing optional- all shapes, all sizes, all ages. But wherever you go SUNSCREEN SUNSCREEN SUNSCREEN-apply it BEFORE you leave your room not when you get to the beach.
