We are a family with 1 ten and 12 yr olds.
We will start our stay a Sheraton for 4 days, Marriott for 4 days and Kahana Falls for 6 days.
We do not like to sit for a long time and eat. Just want good food quickly!!!
Thanks
Need recs for good/cheap family eats for Sheraton , Wailea...
Kihei - Da Kitchen - inexpensive take out and large portions. (Wailea area)
Kahana - Honokowai Deli
Do a search on cheap eats or something similar as this topic comes up often.

Hi - I just responded to one of your other posts as well. We definitely found food to be the most expensive thing we did in Maui. A soft drink down by the pool of our hotel was $3.50 for a 12 oz can. We made sure we had a fridge in the room and purchased cereal, lunch meat, milk, bread and snacks. This was helpful when we either didn%26#39;t want to pay resort prices every day for breakfast/lunch or didn%26#39;t have time. We also didn%26#39;t want to have to jump in the car just to drive to some place and find a place to park just to eat. There goes half your day just scoping out food. We did eat out every night for dinner. There are places out in Lahaina and other areas that are reasonably priced, you just have to look. A lot of people on here recommended purchasing the book ';Maui Revealed'; which you can get at your local book store. I found it very helpful in a lot of ways, but particularly in narrowing down choices for places to eat. Hope this helps. I%26#39;m just speaking from our recent experience.
2nd vote for Da Kitchen in Kihei--kids might be able to share one of the larger plate lunches. The noodle bowl is HUGE.
Also, Alexander%26#39;s for fish--no ambiance, outdoor (though covered tables), great fish which can be grilled or fried. You can wander the small outdoor marketplace also-there were a few places in there. One was Middle Eastern, I think.
Look at the alternative-hawaii site for local type restaurants in the Kihei area. There are good descriptions.
Kahana,lower road Okazualua deli,check spelling.
Honokowai Ozakura and deli, that%26#39;s a bit closer anyway. Too lazy to google it!
Aloha,
WHile you are staying on Kaanapali Beach (Sheraton %26amp; Marriot) you will find the Hula Grill and Lealani%26#39;s which are right on the beach at Whaler%26#39;s Village. Not cheap but more reasonable then eating at the hotel. Lahaina town is just 5 minutes south has a ton of restaurants, Moose McGillicudy%26#39;s has good cheap food and fun atmosphere on Front Street. BJ%26#39;s for pizza in Lahaina is great. Aloha Mixed Plate is across from the Lahaina Cannery Mall and next to the Old Lahaina Luau has good cheap food and Compadre%26#39;s (Mexican) across the street is reasonable, split an appetizer and entree, and good.
In Kahana the China Boat has good food, sit in or take out. Dollie%26#39;s is good for take out pizza. And just walk across the street to the restaurant located on the beach in the Sands of Kahana restaurant, reasonable prices good portions. Sands of Kahana is where we will be starting 1/21/06 for a few weeks. Enjoy!
I forgot to mention Maui Taco%26#39;s you get more food then you can eat. There is one in Lahaina in the mall that has the Ace Hardware and one at the Napili Plaza shopping center which is north of Kahana.
