Hawaii sightseeing

We are going on a Hawaiian cruise and will visit 4 islands. We would like to get away from the shore excursions through the cruiseline and do our own thing. I would like to know where the best snorkeling spots are and other must see sights. Also, please let me know of good companies for sightseeing.

Hawaii sightseeing

Before you get the answers to your questions I have to give you one word of warning.

If you do not use the cruise lines tours and you get back to the ship late, it is not going to be waiting for you. You will be paying for a flight to whatever the next port of call is.

Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Hawaii sightseeing

your question is so vast and non spacific that I could write a book..... since others have done this ...pick up one of the many good ones and research a bit.....then ask pointed questions on what excited your brain.

The volcano national park

Capt Cook snorkel....best in state

Pearl Harbor... a must for any American

Air tour of Kauai best there is

Air tour of Hawaii only way to see thtis huge place

Hana road in Maui..overrated but still great

Lahina on maui... a great beach town

Waterfalls of Kohala mountains largest in Hawaii....almost 3000 ft

Helping Hawaiidan cut his lawn, trim the palms and go to the dump..... a thrilling personal experience filled with warm huuman emotion in a great island experience...participation is limited...reserve your spot soon.....

Ah Dan so that answers the question of ';Where do the locals hang out'; that is asked so often.....at the dump!

Brighton.....dont tell anyone....

When you come I will show you; and play IZ on my CD.....

We have a very classy dumps... with a green dump, a metal dump, and a stuff dump....Can even show you the recycle redempton center and the new glass and cardboard one...... You will never see Hawaii in the same way again... instead of waisting your time on some stupid beach... you can discover gold in the discarded beer, soda and water bottles that folks love to throw.....

Would you like the morning or afternoon tour.

I have looked at books but there is too much to choose from. I thought it would be better to ask for recommendations. I checked out Captain Cook and that looked great, thanks. I love to be outdoors and away from crowds. I would love to see the volcanoes and ziplining in the rainforest, but I need to try and keep the cost down as much as possible.

Regarding the ship leaving - I know that is a possibility but we are docked for about day and half at each island, I%26#39;m not too concerned. I would rather do what I want to do and be away from the crowds. It is also cheaper to do it on our own.

I forgot, someone told me to stay away from helicopters in Hawaii, they are dangerous.

We dont have any ziplines on Hawaii...in our rainforest....think that is Costa Rica.

Helos are more fragile than fix-wing and thus will have more incidents. They are safer than yor car....so are airplanes

on the Big island the thing to do is

1. tour the volcano of foot

2. Take a tour by air Big island Air ( no web site) around the island tour ( waterfalls to lava)

3. Snorkel-dolphin-whale trip to Capt Cook with Fairwinds or Dolphin Discoveries.

mhart, helicopters in Hawai%26#39;i are no more dangerous than they are anywhere else.

Better make it the afternoon tour Dan. I want to be sure all the flies are awake and active.

Meant to ask, how is the bottle deposit thing going? I know when we started ours here there was a lot of resistance but man are the highways ever clean these days.

in hawaiii we catch on slow.....very..very..very slow..... as an example the powers are consisderiing a road approved in 1960..... and want to do more studies.....

Does that give yo an idea of progress here ???
