is it better to go home in the afternoon or late evening flight? which is better on the body?

I guess it might depend if you can sleep on a plane, some people can%26#39;t. I like to leave later, sleep on the way back and get back early the next day. That works if you%26#39;re flying direct, not if you have to make connections. It%26#39;s a long day either way.

Since under either alternative you will be flying overnight in order to get all the way back east, and suffer from the ';red-eye blues'; whether you take the earlier or later flight, I would opt for the later one just to have an extra afternoon in Hawaii.

Also, if you are leaving from Honolulu, the airport is exceptionally busy in the early PM when most flighs leave for the mainland. Much less so in the later evening.
