Surfing Competitions

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me about any surfing competitions held in Feb. I know that the contests have a time period of when they could be on, if the waves are right. I can%26#39;t seem to find any websites with info. So if someone knows of any, it would be appreciated. I know about the Big Wave Invitational between Dec 2 - Feb 28. I think it was only held 6 times in the past 17 years or so, because the waves were not big enough. I won%26#39;t get my hopes up for that one. Has anyone actually gone to that one? I bet it was great.

The contest you mention is the Eddie Aikau---held in memory of big wave surfer and waterman Eddie. It was held last year, but I was on the Mainland and missed it.

Surfing Competitions

I believe that Monster Energy (in conjunction with Billabong) is scheduled to have a competition at Pipeline, Feb.22-March 1, but I can%26#39;t seem to find any more info on this.

I went to the Monster Pipeline Pro last year. I think we went on Feb 18 (Friday), we did not get see the finals. It was suppose to be held on that Sunday but the waves were not good enough. We had to leave on that Monday, I did check out the website to find out who won. I tried to find info on the same competition for this year but I didn%26#39;t find anything about it, except for last years results. This year we are going Feb 13 - 20. So it does not look like we will get to see it again if its the 22.

I just found out the official waiting period for the Monster Energy Pipeline Pro, Jan 27 - Feb 10. If you are going to be there on these dates you should check it out. I%26#39;m not leaving till the 13th of Feb so I will not get to see it again. Oh well, if you get to go, have fun, it was a cool competition last year.
