Has anyone done the time share meetings to save on activitys? Is it worth waisting a whole morning? and what did you really save, and which time share meeting gives you the best discount?
Any info would be so helpful, Thanks.....
is time share meeting worth the discount activitys?
Some are better (less worse?) than others...and they will ';save'; you money. Based on my one experience, + comments on the pages in the past, the ';promised'; duration is rarely adhered to; only you can decide what your time it worth.
Given a choice between Timeshare presentation A or B, I%26#39;d recommend the one offering a comfortable place to take a nice long shower afterwards. (A couple of Mai Tais beforehand might also be of benefit.)

Mrs. Shanty was very embaressed by my behavior at the presentation but I figured that the guy should know from up front that we were only there for the discount. He got an urgent call after about 20 minutes( we think it was a ploy to stop the ';madness';). He happily signed our form and we were out of there. Not sure how much we saved, think it was quite a bit considering. I think the salesmen must be good a sizing up who will buy and who won%26#39;t.
Shanty bob, do you remember what company you went threw?
I personally would not do it. I made that mistake once and will never do it again.
Is four hours of your time in paradise worth a half price boat ride? Maybe for a significant discount on lodging, but make sure its worth it. If you do decide to do it, take Kama%26#39;s advice, he%26#39;s a wise man.
Wait a minute Bob, you mean that the person who told me I had to behave in order to get the Luau tickets (instead of a coupon good for a shell necklace %26amp; cup of punch at Hilo Hatties) was putting me on?
Allright jammers, it%26#39;s time for a little wager. I%26#39;m saying thumbs down will exceed up by 5-1; are we on?
I only do it because I love baiting salespeople who want to play games with me. (BAD pzp! BAD! BAD!) They%26#39;re mostly SO slimy.
Hey you all; check ';Embassy Maui-Timeshare Deal'; by Tustinbells (post a few minutes ago)!
Kama, I%26#39;ll take that bet. Loser buys the winner a mai tai on the beach anywhere in Hawaii, you just have to get yourself there. That way we both win!
Anyway, back to the topic. Think about this, you spent how much, and traveled how far? Don%26#39;t waste half a day for $100 worth of an activity vouchers. You%26#39;ll spend 4-5 hours on this painful spiel, thats $20 an hour. You probably spent at least $100 an hour to get to Hawaii. There%26#39;s so much more you could use that time for.
I know there%26#39;s a bargain hunter in all of us willing to spend $10 extra in gas to save $5 on groceries....ok, doesn%26#39;t that sound dumb? Now, if it saves you hundreds in lodging, that is a different story.
Do some math.
Figure out what your airfare is, meals, lodging, rent a car etc for your entire trip. Divide it by how ever many hours you are on vacation. Now that you have the cost per hour of vaction figure what sitting through a 2 to 3 hour presentation is costing you and decide if saving on an activity (which you can probably get a discount on anyway) is worth it. To me wasting even one minute of vaction time is not worth anything I might get from them...but that is me.
