deep sea fishing with Capt. Heinz on Linda Sue, Kona

I am considering setting up a fishing trip with Capt. Heinz on the Linda Sue. Any input on his reputation. If not Capt. Heinz, who would be a good choice?

Aloha

I don%26#39;t know Heinz.... but can say that some are better than others; but none bad.....

The boat and captain are only 50% of the equasion..... the other is the sea and the fish....

Check out Kona Fishing on the web There are a lot of big fish out there..and it is a game of chance...some captains are luckier and use tricks to get the best chance.....but the blue has gotta be in the right spot at the right time.

Ask what the charge is and can you keep your catch or some of it.......thats more important.......

Hawaiindan--Heinz is with the LindaSue, if you have ever heard of that. I will be sure to check the things you mentioned before we book.

We are also looking for a condo or B%26amp;B in the area or a little south of Kona. Any suggestions there?

Aloha..

What do you Want from a condo in terms of beds and features there are several that Look good...... it all depends on your taste. I am not a B%26amp;B person so I cant tell you about them with any authority.

A lot of folks seem to like the Hale Kona Kai ( caution there are 2 one good and one not so) and the Billfisher was a favorite among the hollywood set in the 60%26#39;s

both are in the fringe of the Kona action zone......and you can walk

Let me know

There are only the two of us, so a one bedroom or studio would be fine. We won%26#39;t be spending much time in the room anyway. I would like an ocean front so we can listen to the waves at night while we sleep. I just thought a B%26amp;B might be nice because there is more privacy, but we are not into sitting around and visiting with the owners a lot. We want to get out and do things. I also thought going a bit farther South when we first arrived would get us closer to the Volcano park the first day, but maybe this is not a good idea since the rest of teh time we will be doing things around Kona. I also thought about Waipio area but decided this is too far from everything, just thought it would be pretty. I have pretty much scratched that idea. How far is Capt. Cook or Hookena? Anything good in those areas and how long does it take to get to the boat docks from there? How long from the Kona airport?

Thanks so much for all your input and help. Greatly appreciated!!

Connie

Aloha.....

Got it.....I got the condo for you.....Magic Sands..... studios that are next to a great beach and have a good restauraunt, Jamesons. right there......4.5 miles south of kona and 2 miles from Keauhou bay. and the tours to capt cook and dolphins.

To get to the boat harbor you take King KamIII road to the upper hiway and zip up to it. abour 8 miles that by pass the Kona crunch

Aloha

sorry.....it will take you 20 to 25 min from Keauhou/ Kona to get to the sport fishing dock. and 35 min to the airport.

Sounds like the Magic Sands is jsut what we would like, but they want a 7 night minimum stay. I just checked. We will be Hawaii for 14 nights, but not 7 on the Big Island. Any other suggestions that are similar to the Magic Sands and maybe in the same area? The distance to the airport and dock sounds about right.

Aloha

Well the Billfisher is a traditional spot of old but no beach, for fisherman to stay

Id suggest a hotel..the Outrigger...... super good location to snorkel too......not much of a beach....but reasonable

Unfortunately the Outrigger is sold out for the days we will be there. We will be staying from 12/27/05 thru 12/29/2005. Any other suggestions? I will check out the Billfisher. Is it clean? The Magic Sands suggested Kona Islander Inn. What is it like? I told them I would have to check it out.

Thanks again

I guess there are twoOutriggers there. The Outrigger Royal Sea Coast ins, sold out, just the other one. Which one were you sugegsting?
