Bragain accommodation in good location

Hey all,

I%26#39;m hoping a few kind locals might be able to recommend some nice accommodation for a solo female traveller - all the rates appear to assume dual occupancy, and I can%26#39;t afford to be paying double just because I am travelling alone. I usually like 4* places, and can pay $150 or so per night in early March.

Any ideas, good people?

Thx,

Pauly

Pauly...

If you are booking your hotel room separately, American hotel rates are invariably priced on ';per night per room';, not a ';per person per night'; basis. When you look at the rates posted on the popular booking sites (Expedia, Orbitz, etc.) that is the entire price for the room for that night, not per person.

The reason it states ';assuming double occupancy';, is that they will generally charge extra if there are more than two people in the room.

So, if a website quotes $150 per night, that it what you will pay for either single or double occupancy. And, if you are willing to spend that kind of money, you will find a multitude of interior (off-water) Waikiki hotels from which to select. Check out the Ohana properties and those on Kuhio Avenue.

Now, things may be different if you are booking a tour or package where there will likely be an extra charge for single occupancy....
