Greetings,

I will be traveling to Waikiki with my girlfriend in February. First time for both of us.

I am handicapped and will be in a beach wheelchair (chair with extra-huge wheels to allow it to be pushed through te sand). I%26#39;m wondering if anyone can tell me if the entrance to the beach is at ';street level'; or if there are any steps you have to go down to get to the beach?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I believe that the beach right by Duke%26#39;s statue and the police station is ramped right down to the sand. Most of the beaches are at street level, with the exception of just a few.

Do you know where you are staying? I%26#39;ve seen lots of beach wheelchairs on the beach here. I *think* the end by Hilton Hawaiian village is good -- there is a paved walkway that is at the street level and I don%26#39;t remember any stairs.
